Monday, 12noon: AROUND 300 people turned up to apply for jobs at Butlins when the holiday centre held a recruitment day last Tuesday.
One eager job hunter arrived almost an hour before the doors opened – and there was quite a queue by the official start time of 10am.

Numbers were around 100 down on last year but last year's recruitment day coincided with the double blow of impending factory closures, Minebea in Skegness and C S Martin at Alford.

Butlins at Ingoldmells employs 800 people year round but numbers peak at 1,200 when the centre opens seven days a week for the peak season.
All-week opening is due to begin on March 16.

Butlins resort director Chris Baron said: "The recruitment day was busy for the whole team here and we were very pleased by the numbers that came. I think the important thing was the quality of people who applied."
