Tuesday, 4.27pm - A FICTIONAL drama about a Skegness girl chasing an Olympic dream was filmed in the town this week.
ITV was commissioned to produce the two-part drama, Dive, for BBC 2 and the production team used seafront locations for filming.

Location manager Charlie Somers said Skegness was chosen following the casting process and said the crew felt very welcome in the town.

He added: "Everyone has been great and really friendly. It has been really positive and East Lindsey District Council has been a fantastic help."

The main beach, Skegness Train Station and Skegness Pier were all used for filming, as well as local businesses.

ELDC communications assistant Melissa Smith added: "It has been a great week for the town and it is a great success. We are looking forward to seeing the finished product.

"It offered a bit of promotion for the area and it will hopefully bring in more people next summer."

Mr Somers said the drama is about a young girl from Skegness who is trying to get into the Olympic diving team and she falls in love with a guy from her school.

He said she gets pregnant and has to make a choice between her dream and her child.

Dive is planned to be shown on BBC 2 in autumn.
