Thursday, 12.52pm - AN exciting special guest added a sense of adventure to Wainfleet Children's Centre's second birthday.
Spiderman joined children and parents as they celebrated and officially opened the centre's new play area.

Centre manager Coralie Armstrong said: "The kids had a fantastic time. There was such a good attendance we found it hard to get people to go home!

"They were doing lots of outdoor activities. We had painting, messy play activities and a bouncy castle."The play ground is fantastic and the children are already benefiting from outdoor play and exercise."

The play area has been funded by Lincolnshire County Council and will allow the children of the centre, nursery and after school club lots of opportunities to play and exercise outside.

The play area includes climbing frames and slides and lots of activities on the floor aimed at keeping children mentally as well as physically active, such as snakes and ladders.

A road has also been painted on the ground to allow the children to practice road safety with staff who have the use of traffic lights and signals.

The play house is great for inspiring their imaginations, and there are lots of activities aimed at improving their balance and co-ordination.

There was lots of healthy food and smoothies for the guests to enjoy at the birthday party.
