Saturday, 1pm - THE Mayor of Skegness, Coun Pat Phillips, has heaped plaudits on Church Farm Museum.
Coun Phillips, who recently escorted a group of students around the attraction, said: "It's a wonderful place - everything there is fascinating."

At a town council meeting, similar praise for the museum - which is the re-creation of a farm of yesteryear - was sounded by other councillors, including Coun Gary Ellis who described how, as a 16-year-old, he had been involved in the early stages of creating its garden.

"My job to was to hack down the nettles and weeds," he recalled.

The meeting warmed to the news that Lincolnshire County Council is to keen to enhance the site, with a view to doubling the current visitor numbers of 14,000 a year,

Subject to successful grant bids, the county council wants to improve the cafe, create a multi-use activity area and launch an a ll-year programme of events and activities.

The project brief states: "It is intended that the site will become much more than a museum.

"The aim is to create a community facility and to provide a range of activities that are not matched elsewhere in the area."

What do you think of the plans?
