Tuesday, 9am: A MAN who repeatedly raped a young girl when he was a teenager has been jailed for ten years at Lincoln Crown Court.
Peter Warner, 23, who now lives in Warwick, was also ordered to register as a sex offender and disqualified from working with children for life.

A jury convicted Warner of 12 sex offences, including six charges of rape, following a trial at Lincoln Crown Court earlier this year.

The court heard Warner carried out the offences in the Skegness area more than four years ago when he was aged between 16 and 19 years old.
Passing sentence at Lincoln Crown Court, Judge Michael Heath told Warner the sexual abuse went on for 'some time'.

Judge Heath said: "There was an element of coercion involved. You were much older than her, you were much stronger than her.

"This poor little girl was not able to tell anybody about what had happened until the age of 11."

Felicity Gerry, prosecuting, said the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had described her distress in a victim impact statement.
Miss Gerry told the court: "Since talking about what happened to her she has found it hard to sleep and does not eat properly."

Gordon Aspden, mitigating, said Warner had never been in trouble with the police before and still maintained his innocence.

"At the time of the offences he was in his mid to late teens. He was someone whose development had been limited, he was sexually naive at the relevant time and grossly immature.

Mr Aspden told the court Warner was now in a 'happy' relationship with two children. "That is all now in disarray," he added.

Peter Warner, 23, of Emscote Road, Warwick, had denied 12 sexual offences, including six charges or rape between 2002 and 2006.

He was also made the subject of a sexual offences prevention order which will come into operation after his release.
