Thursday, 2.05pm - POLICE officers from Yemen, Bermuda and Bahrain came to Skegness last Tuesday to find out how the UK force is structured and how Lincolnshire functions.
Captain Adel Al-Taheri, from Yemen, Ch Insp Junior Watts from Bermuda, and Major Talal Ghanem from Bahrain, enjoyed a day in Skegness discussing various issues with force managers and went out on patrol.

They were also invited to St Clement's College, in Burgh Road, to speak with staff about partnership working.

The Ingoldmells neighbourhood police team then invited the commanders out with them in Ingoldmells so they could see how they work within a community.

The trio came to the UK as part of a group of nIne international police commanders who are staying here for the International Commanders' Programme until August 7 at the National Policing Improvement Agency Leadership College at Bramshill in Hampshire.

They spent four days in Lincolnshire altogether as part of the mainland attachment part of the course.

Kurt Eyre, head of the International Academy at the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA), said: "Once they have completed the course they will be much better equipped to tackle a range of challenges they face in their own countries.

"We are totally committed to playing a key role in the professional and personal development of senior police officers to help them serve their communities even better and provide highly effective leadership to their forces."
