Wednesday, 9.30am - THE landscape of Skegness Industrial Estate is set to dramatically alter with the release for sale of a 66-acre plot of land next to it.

And it could mean hundreds of new jobs will be created.

The Countryside Business Park, as it has been dubbed by the Countryside Private Pension Scheme which owns the land, has permission for a hotel, car showroom, pub, fast food outlet, petrol station, industrial development and managed office space.

Property surveyor Will Cooke, of Pygott and Crone the agent for the land, said: "Once constructed the development will give the Skegness economy a tremendous boost.

"It will ease congestion from the town centre, create hundreds of new jobs and give the town much needed and improved facilities."

The huge piece of land situated in the A52 was first given outline planning permission for commercial development in 2001.

East Lindsey District Council granted detailed permission in 2003 and an extension of the permission in underway.

Permission has already been granted to build a roundabout on the A52 and discussions are underway to provide a future road link from the A52 to the A158.

This is something which has been wanted for the town for many years because it is hoped it will ease traffic and will be an important link between the two main routes in and out of Skegness.

Mr Cooke said: "We have already received several serious enquiries and now marketing has started we expect to receive a tremendous amount of interest from local and national developers."

The land will be sold as one lot and interested parties should contact Mr Cooke, tel 0845 270 2473.
