Deer sighting in Alford

Friday, 2.22pm - DEER have now been spotted in Alford market place.
Standards readers have been texting us with their deer sightings for weeks and now we have had some more, including the first sighting Alford town centre.


Paul Burton, of Spilsby, delivers newspapers for a newsagents in Lincoln. He was delivering in Alford at 4am one day when he saw a deer in the market square before it fled towards St Wilfrid's Church.


Tracey of Hogsthorpe, also told us about a close encounter.


Her text message said: "Last month a deer ran out in front of me in Mill Lane, Hogsthorpe. She was so beautiful and it was the fist wild deer my daughter Tia has seen."
