Thursday, 10.15am: MANAGERS of Southview Leisure Park, Burgh Road, Skegness, Karen and Richard Bishop, have donated a total of £13,300 to Skegness Town Council.
The couple recently celebrated their first year in Skegness and made the donations after speaking with employee Coun Chris Draper and Mayor Coun Neil Pimperton.

The town council had been looking for sponsors to plant flowers in four sections of flowerbeds down the middle of Castleton Boulevard and £8,000 has been donated for this cause.

Mrs Bishop said: "When I spoke to Tony (Cumberworth) and Neil (Pimperton) they told me they were doing the road in sections and I thought why not take the four sections and allow the town council to focus on something else."

She said the holiday park brings a lot of people into the town and local people have to put up with that and they would like to give something back.

Mrs Bishop explained £800 would go towards lights for the Hildreds Centre Christmas tree while £4,500 would provide Christmas lights for Lumley Road.

Town Clerk Tony Cumberworth said: "We put together a specification for planting and we want to go out to get the works done and get planting help sorted out. It is marvellous someone came up with the funding."

Mr Cumberworth said the funding also means the town council can look to renew the Christmas illuminations for next year.
