Bleak picture on jobless front

Saturday, 3pm: THE official jobless total in Skegness and Mablethorpe continues to rise with a further 140 people out of work in January compared to December.
The total claiming Jobseeker's Allowance in the combined travel to work area hit 2,219 in the first month of the year – up seven per cent on the December figure and a massive 19 per cent rise on January 2009.

The year on year rise was less dramatic on the coast than for the county as a whole where there was an average 28 per
cent rise. Lincolnshire's jobless total hit 16,334, up by 3,595
on January 2009.
