Alford Grammar students gain impressive 99 per cent pass

Friday, 2.23pm - AN impressive 99 per cent of students at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Alford, gained the national benchmark of 5 A*-C grades, including English and maths.

Headteacher Angie Francis said: "These are excellent results and I would like to publicly congratulate the students.

"To sustain such high results year after year is a tribute to the support the staff at Queen Elizabeth's give to all students at the school and I would like to thank them for their hard work."

The high achievers were: Henry Apletree, seven A*, four A; Alice Blanchard, 10.5 A*, 3.5 A, including an A in Latin taken two years early; Leo Charlton, 7.5 A*, 3.5 ½ A, and A in AS accounting; Lauren Howden, 6.5 A*,4.5 A; Jason Humberstone, four A*, six A; Ethan McDonald-Smith, five A*,seven A and C in AS accounting; Robert Pike, four A*, five A; Jennie Poynton, four A*, five A; Robert Storr, seven A*, six A; Hayley Ward, six A*, six A; Callum White, 10 A*, three A and C in AS accounting; Victoria Whittaker, 10 A*,two A and C in AS accounting.
