DEDICATED members of two Welton Le Marsh clubs have managed to raise a staggering £2,000 for a vital charity in the area.
A cheque was presented by representatives from both the bingo and friendship club to Vic Parrock for the Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Air Ambulance at a cream tea and entertainment event held on Saturday, August 11.
The money was raised throughout the year by the kind groups that meet at the village hall and a donation of £2,000 was presented to the same charity last year.
“The cream tea event was very successful and we managed to present £2,000 to the Air Ambulance. Year after year, we donate to them and it’s quite surprising how much money we make because we’re only a small group with older members,” said Mrs Gingill.
There was also a raffle with many prizes, a tombola, a bric-a-brac stand, pluck-a-duck and lots of other things on the day.
