£1.5k handed to causes in latest round of East Lindsey District Council grants

Local causes have received a combined £1,500 cash boost in the latest round of Councillor Community Initiative handouts.

The grants are awarded by East Lindsey District Councillors, each of whom is given a set amount they can donate to worthy causes each year.

In Ingoldmells Coun Graham Archer has awarded a grant of £500 to Ingoldmells Parish Council to bridge a shortfall in funding for a multi-use games area at the Queen Elizabeth Playing Fields.

In the Alford ward the Bilsby Holy Trinity Church has been given £400 by Coun Jean Bradley to help clear an overgrown corner of the churchyard to reveal the old graves and gravestones.

In the Willoughby & Sloothby ward, Coun Angie Smith has awarded £400 to Willoughby Parish Council to fund entertainment for the village’s family fun weekend event.

And in the Winthorpe ward Coun Carl Macey has given £200 to Skegness Rotary Club’s Interact Club Project, which will go towards fruit bushes and a wormery for their environmental suite in Wainfleet.
