The Wainfleet Theatre Club’s traditional New Year pantomime gets under later this month.
They will be presenting no fewer than fiveperformances of the popular pantomime Robin Hood at the Coronation Hall in Wainfleet on Saturdays, January 18 and 25 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on both days, and also on Friday, January 24 at 7.45pm.
“It’s a very traditional family pantomime using a brand new and extremely funny script which contains all the usual blend of characters and capers that you would expect from Wainfleet Theatre Club,” said a spokesperson.
“There’s lots of audience participation, and don’t forget to ‘look out behind you’ because you never know what’s going to happen next.
“Robin Hood, supported by his band of Merry Men, goes head to head against the Greedy Prince John and the evil Sheriff of Nottingham.
“Fortunately, for Robin, the Sheriff relies upon his bungling pair of assistants Smash and Grab to carry out most of his dirty deeds and they manage to - well, why don’t you come along and see for yourselves what an hilarious mess they make of everything?”
“The lovely charms of Maid Marian await Robin if he can defeat his foes and the comely Dame Courgette makes it her business to make sure Robin Hood wins the day. A feast of fun awaits you and promises to be a real treat for all ages.”
