EPITAPHS was the enlightening subject of conversation at the latest meeting of the Spilsby University of the Third Age.
Veronica and David Stonehouse gave a fascinating presentation on the final messages adorning gravestones throughout Lincolnshire.
Many of those discussed were particularly sad or exceptionally funny and gave an insight into the life of the person buried there. It was also explained to members that there are now restrictions on what can be written on gravestones.
The next meeting of the Spilsby U3A takes place on Wednesday, March 14, at the Franklin Hall, Spilsby.
Stephanie Round will be giving a talk on the history of Spilsby from 1939 to 1964.
