VISITORS to the Embassy Swimming Pool in Skegness can be assured they’re being looked after by some of the best lifeguards in the business after its staff came second in a prestigious national pool lifeguard competition.

Over 450 lifeguards from 38 different leisure centres took part in the IMSPA and IQL’s annual Lifeguard Triathlon event held in May.

The competition not only tested swimming and CPR skills but it also tested the theoretical knowledge needed to be a lifeguard, such as First Aid awareness.

As well as coming second overall, losing out by 0.1 points from the winning team, the Embassy achieved three top ten places in each of the male and female competition categories. These were: Female – Becky Price – first, Kayleigh North – second, Leanne Myers – eighth. Male – David Harlock – second, Leigh Morley – fifth, Mark Hughes – ninth
