THE Riverhead Theatre in Louth is set to chase the blues away at a special musical event this Saturday, February 11.

‘Chasing the Blues Away’ by The Piccadilly Revellers (formerly 78RPM) will take place at 7.30pm.

“Michael Laws brings his brand new Piccadily Revellers Dance Orchestra to Louth for the very first time,” said a spokesperson for the theatre.

“Drawn from the ranks of Michael’s world-famous Piccadilly Dance Orchestra, the six musicians of the Piccadilly Revellers will entertain the audience with the wonderfully jazzy and sophisticated popular music of the 1920s, 30s and 40s - from Gershwin and Coal Porter to Noel Coward.

“Vocalist Catherine Sykes joins Michael, along with pianist Colin Good, Sandy Burnett on double-base, legendary jazz saxophonist Robert Fowler and Ben Twyford on drums,” they added.

Tickets cost £12, or £11 for Theatre Card holders.
