String trio set to perform ‘rare gem’ at Langton-by-Spilsby gig

A STRING trio will be performing a ‘rare gem not often heard’ when they visit Langton-by-Spilsby next week.

The internationally renowned Bochmann Trio will be performing a diverse collection of stringed arrangements at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in the village on Saturday, May 26,

Violist Carol Hubel-Allen believes the trio’s rendition of the Goldeberg Variations will be of particular interest to musical fans as it is an arrangement more often played on piano than by a stringed three-piece.

She said: “It’s a rare gem not often heard at all in this arrangement.”

Carol will be performing with violinist Michael Bochmann and cellist Nella Hunkins as part of their two-date tour of Lincolnshire, including Louth’s Westgate House.

Compositions by Ravel and Mozart are also scheduled for the show, which will be followed by canapes and drinks.

Tickets costing £12.50 can be bought in advance from 01790 753649 or for £14 on the door.
