THE Skegness Theatre Arts Group Entertainers (STAGE) are set to tread the boards in the Embassy Theatre next week.
The group will perform “Boogie Nights 2: This Time It’s The 80s!” on Thursday, Friday and Saturday June 21, 22 and 23.
“The 80s: a time when lipstick, eyeliner, big hair and spandex were all the rage, (and that was just the men) and the backdrop to the highly successful stage musical Boogie Nights 2,” said a spokesperson.
“Ten years have passed since the first show and Roddy O’Neill, the lad whose story both shows focus on, is a little bit older although not much wiser by the look of things.
“With a fantastic 80s soundtrack, all the usual suspects are there, songs from the likes of Culture Club, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and the Eurythmics are all given the Boogie Nights treatment.
“It’s a feast for the ears for anyone who grew up during that era,” they added.
A donation from ticket sales will be made to Help for Heroes.
The show will be performed at 7.30pm on all three evenings, with a further matinee performance at 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
Tickets cost £13 for adults, £12 for over 60s and £10 for children. A special family ticket is also available for the matinee performance and costs £30.
