Sounds of a decade at The Bootleg Sixties concert

MUSIC from some of the greatest acts of the 60s are set to get an airing at a concert in Skegness this weekend.

The Bootleg Sixties concert will take place on Saturday, August 11 from 7.30pm.

“The sixties were without doubt the most dynamic and innovative of decades and their impact upon society is still being felt throughout the world now,” said a spokesperson.

“The huge changes in music, fashion and culture which the Sixties brought about have left an indelible mark on the world, one which will probably never be equalled.

“This fully self-contained two-hour show is packed with great music from all the classic artists of the decade and is back-dropped by fantastic visual footage, including archive material from each town and city hosting the show.

“Add in some guest appearances, some fab 60s costumes and, of course, The Overture’s own inimitable performance and you have a show which is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

“The Overture’s are recognised as one of the finest exponents of sixties music in the world today and among their many credits and successes are proud to have been asked personally by Sir Elton John to be the main act at his civil ceremony wedding, as well as to support him at the O2 Arena in London on New Year’s Eve 2008.

“Let yourself be taken on an unforgettable journey with the songs, stars and images of pop music’s greatest decade,” they added.

Tickets for the show cost £17.50 for adults, £16.50 for over 60s and £11 for children.
