Solar event at Gibraltar Point near Skegness will give public chance to view Sun safely through special telescope

Fans of astronomy will get a chance to get up close with the sun at a special event a Gibraltar Point this weekend.

The nature reserve will host a solar stargazing session on Saturday, July 20 from 2pm to 5pm.

“Explore our nearest and most important star, the Sun, safely with specialised telescopes,” said a spokesperson.

Participation is £3.50 per adult and £2 per child. Booking is advised on 01754 898057.

Meanwhile, on Friday, July 19 between 10am and 12.30pm the latest ‘Invigor8’ session at the reserve will give adults a chance to go sea dipping for marine wildlife.

“Get your wellies on for a marine adventure down on the beach as we go sea dipping for marine wildlife,” the spokesperson added.

Participation is £5 per adult and includes tea or coffee.
