Skegness Library is set to host an exhibition charting its own fascinating history dating right back to the 1870s.
It’s being held on Saturday, February 8 from 9am until 3pm.
“The health benefits of reading have become well known in modern society, but it seems that Skegness’s Victorians were ahead of the game,” said a spokesperson.
“The town’s library began life in a chemist’s shop in 1874, giving our ancestors the chance to match the latest medicinal tonic with the perfect book.
“That’s just one of the fascinating facts uncovered in a display charting the history of Skegness Library.
“ The mini exhibition includes pictures and information discovered by librarians, who used the library’s own local history resources to uncover the past.”
