THE spectacular Russian State Ballet and Opera House are set to bring the delightful ballet classic Sleeping Beauty to Skegness next week.
The troupe will stop off at the Embassy Theatre on Tuesday, October 9 as part of a 64-date UK tour.
“Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky’s classic will be sure to enchant audiences,” said a spokesperson.
“Composed in 1889 and still scored to original music of Tchaikovsky, Sleeping Beauty remains one of the most well-known and loved ballets of all time.
“First performed at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in 1890, the story of Sleeping Beauty is one of romance and eternal love. Today the timeless tale of Sleeping Beauty continues to capture the imagination of its audience and inspire both young and old.
“The world famous Russian State Ballet and Opera Theatre of Komi has delighted audiences since 1958. They are renowned for their ballet and opera masterpieces.
“The Russian State Ballet and Opera House have ensured that this classic ballet remains just as spell-binding as it was when it was composed over 130 years ago.
“Sleeping Beauty promises to impress ballet lovers by showcasing the outstanding skill of our 45 dancers.
“The show will also entertain adult and child story lovers alike with its vibrant portrayal of this classic tale,” they added.
The performance in Skegness will begin at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £21 for adults, £19.50 for over 60s, and £16 for children.
