Work is already well underway on Janice Sutton Theatre Productions’ new show - Annie - and the group are on the lookout for a canine companion to share the stage with their main lead.
The group will be putting on the much-loved musical from April 3 to 6 at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness.
The eponymous star of the show has already been cast, but now Janice Sutton and her team are on the lookout for a suitable Sandy - Annie’s loyal four-legged companion.
“After years of the hard knock life at the New York City Orphanage, 11-year-old Annie decides to run away in search of her parents with nothing but half a silver locket and a written promise to return,” said Janice.
“Sneaking out of the orphanage Annie meets Sandy, an abandoned stray dog who quickly becomes her closest companion.
“I believe every dog deserves to be a star and we want to now find that loveable pooch. Now ‘paws’ for thought - do you have a or know someone whose pet would follow in the paw marks of Toto or Lassie? If so we could make them a star in Skegness.
“Our Woof Factor auditions for Sandy take place this coming Sunday (February 9) at the Sea Scouts Hall, Playing Fields, Wainfleet Road, Skegness from 2pm to 4pm.
“We are looking for a dog who loves children and can be trained to the requirements of the role, and ideally as near to sandy colour as we can get - but this is not essential and all pets are welcome.
“The dog would need to have the right temperament.”
A dog trainer will be in charge of Woof Factor, and the afternoon will be supported by Keith’s Rescue Dogs.
