Police investigating the suspected theft of koi carp and goldfish in Lincolnshire have asked private owners to contact them if they have been stolen from.
The appeal follows the discovery of a large number of fish at a property in the south of the county, during a routine search following an arrest.
“We’ve not had any reports of thefts from aquatic centres so the fish may be from someone’s private pond,” said a police spokesperson.
“We are asking pond-keepers to check their ponds and contact us if they believe they may have been th evictim of theft.”
Call 101 to report a theft or email email@example.com if you believe the recovered fish may be yours.
