Robin Hood and his Merry Men are set to battle the Sheriff of Nottingham at Wainfleet this weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday the grounds of the Magdalen Museum in Wainfleet will play host to the historical re-enactment group, the Knights of Skirbeck, at the Wainfleet Robin Hood Festival.

They will be on site between 11am and 4.30pm on both days.

In addition there will be a fancy dress competition for children at 2pm on Saturday. Children are also asked to draw and decorate a shield and bring them along at the same time, when they will be judged.

There will be various stalls and a face painting artist on both days, and refreshments will be available.

Other attractions include demonstrations of medieval weapons, an archery demonstration and medieval fashion show.

The festival will be open from 11am on both days and admission – which is only £2 per adult – includes admission to the museum.
