MANY local customers and businesses raised a glass to the newly refurbished White Hart Inn, Spilsby, on Wednesday evening (June 1) at the pub’s official re-opening.
The Greene King pub, on Market Square, has undergone a £300,000 refurbishment giving the historic coaching inn a facelift while creating 16 new part-time jobs.
Licensees Angela Morgan-Knight, 43, and Shirley Smith, 50, friends for 11 years before becoming business partners, run the pub with Angela’s husband Steve. They want to see the new and improved White Hart become the hub of market town life once more and say the new-look venue offers something for everyone.
The fully renovated pub now boasts of a new kitchen, refurbished function and conference rooms, a cinema and a new-look restaurant. Accommodation has also doubled from four to eight double bedrooms with en-suite facilities. And with a newly acquired wedding licence, the friends hope to attract couples who are looking for somewhere to tie the knot.
