Film Club to screen ‘Of Gods and Men’

LOUTH Film Club is set to screen Cannes Film Festival grand prize winning movie ‘Of Gods And Men’ on Monday (August 20) at 7.30pm.

“Trappist monks in Algeria are threatened by terrorist action,” said a spokesperson.

“Flee or stay? That is their question.

“This deeply moving exploration of the demands of faith and the cost of walking the walk, quietly and penetratingly conveys the tension between a life dedicated to a deep inner peace and an external threat of violence,” they added.

All Louth Film Club screenings are held in the Playhouse Cinema in Louth.

Non-members of the club are welcome to watch screenings at the usual Playhouse Cinema ticket price.

For more information about the club go to their website at www.louthfilmclub.com.

You can also pick up a printed programme at Off The Beaten Tracks record shop at 36 Aswell Street, or at the Playhouse Cinema, Louth Library or Louth Tourist Information Centre (next to the cinema).
