Budding astronomers of all ages will get a chance to enjoy the sight of Jupiter at a special event at the Gibratar Point Nature Reserve near Skegness this Friday.

‘Starnight: The Moon and Jupiter’ will run from 7pm to 9.30pm.

“Explore our nearest neighbour and the magnificent giant planet that is Jupiter,” said a spokesperson.

The evening will be hosted by local astronomer Paul Money.

Participation is £3.50 for adults and £2 for children.

The event is being run in connection with Invigor8, a series of eight activities designed to invigorate and inspire adults to get back to their youth and enjoy the great outdoors.

Meanwhile, the nature reserve will hold a special birdwatching event this weekend

‘Spring Birds for Beginners’ will take place on Sunday, March 24 from8.30am to 11am.”

“Take a guided walk around the reserve to learn about the birds that have started to arrive back in the area,” continued the spokesperson.

“This will be followed by an optional bowl of delicious soup at the Visitor Centre,” they added.

The event is £2 per person (walk only) or £5 for the walk and soup.
