Mini Mozart performers from the Piano Academy performed a showcase event in Skegness recently.

Music students of all ages showed what a year’s hard work can achieve by impressing friends and family during their annual performance and awards event held recently.

More than 70 Skegness Piano Academy students performed a variety of vocal and piano pieces for the 300-strong audience at Club Tropicana in Chapel St Leonards on Sunday, October 21.

Piano Academy tutor April Chapman was delighted to see all her pupils perform so well.

She said: “It was fantastic - everyone said it was a really enjoyable event and thought it was great to see how well the performers had progressed.”

The show started with the Mini Mozart Show Performers featuring some of the younger Piano Academy musicians including Pupil of the Year winner Sebastian Carrington.

The six-year-old piano playing protégé improved his performance level from a grade two to a grade six in the past 12 months and has also secured a place at the illustrious Birmingham Conservatoire following auditions earlier this year.

The young musicians were followed up with another set of rousing performances, this time from the more senior students, who were also met with rapturous applause.

From mid-November The Piano Academy on Lincoln Road, Skegness, will add guitar and drums to the tuition it offers and will also begin a new ‘singing for health and happiness’ class.
