Kids Gang sessions and Moth Morning at reserve

GIBRALTAR Point will have plenty of fun-filled activities for children - plus a chance to get up close to the area’s moths - in the coming week.

The ever-popular Kids Gang sessions will return on three spearate occasions.

First up will be a ‘Sensational Starfish’ event tomorrow (Thursday) from 2pm to 4pm, followed by a ‘Bat Hunt’ on Tuesday, August 28 from 7pm to 9pm and a chance to ‘Go Wild With Tiles’ on Thursday, August 30 from 2pm to 4pm.

A spokesperson said: “At the Sensational Starfish session join us down on the beach finding out all about starfish and why they are so amazing.

“On Tuesday come and discover the creatures of the night at Gibraltar Point, as we explore the reserve we will hopefully see bats, owls and other night time creatures.

“And on August 30 come and make ceramic tiles painted with your own unique designs. These will then be fired in our kiln,” they added.

The Kids Gang events on August 23 and 28 are £3 per child, per session. The Tiles session on August 30 is £4 per child. Advance booking is required on all events on 01754 898 057.

Meanwhile, the reserve will hold a free ‘Moth Morning’ event on Saturday, August 25 from 8am to 9.30am.

“Drop in at Sykes Farm, at Gibraltar Point NNR to find out what amazing moths we have caught in our overnight moth traps,” said the spokesperson.
