Hildreds’ gallery to host preview night

A shopping centre is hoping its new pop-up gallery will become an artistic hub for the community, with a preview evening set to take place tomorrow (Thursday).

The evening will showcase the impressive Made in Lincolnshire exhibition from 4.30pm until 7.30pm, which will be held at the former La Senza unit within the Hildreds Shopping Centre, with everyone welcome to attend.

“The exhibition will showcase all different mediums including watercolour, collage, oil and pen and ink. This will be a brilliant taster for people who would usually visit a gallery to see some brilliant locally produced art,” said Steve Andrews, deputy manager for the centre.

The gallery’s exhibition will then open on Friday, (January 25) and run until around Monday, January 28.

Shoppers will be able to view works from local artists, including Mark Baumber, Steve Gould, John Byford, Barbara Melling, Nicki Jarvis, May Jones, Zara Byford and the Hildreds Shopping Centre’s deputy manager, Steve Andrews at the centre’s H-art Gallery. It will be open from 9.30am – 5.30pm Friday, Saturday and Monday, and 10am – 4pm on Sunday.

The gallery will form part of a series of events that will take place at the centre throughout 2013.
