Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve south of Skegness has announced plans for a series of events to get children off the sofa and outdoors this half-term.
Some of the fun-filled activities taking place at the reserve will include apples and orchards themed events, Halloween fun, and a chance for youngsters to engage in some stargazing.
“We have plenty of autumnal events to encourage children to get off the sofa and enjoying an outdoor adventure,” said a spokesperson for the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, which operates the reserve.
“There are plenty of opportunities to discover the magical world of fungi, enjoy the autumn colours of woodlands and, if you’re brave enough, join some spooky Halloween and starlit walks.
“The events are based at the education centres at Gibraltar Point, the Far Ings National Nature Reserve near Barton and Whisby Nature Park near Lincoln, and with Wildlife Watch clubs across the county,” they added.
The first event is this Saturday (October 27), when the Gibraltar Point Wildlife Watch Group will explore Apples and Orchards from 10am until noon.
The event is suitable for children aged 10 and above.
The fun continues on Tuesday, October 30 with a Kids Gang Halloween Special from 6pm to 8pm.
It is £3 per child.
And on Thursday, November 1 there will be two fun activities.
From 10am to 11.30am there will be a Tadpole Toddler Group event for ages five and under, which will enjoy crafts, story-telling and nature walks.
The event is £2 per child.
The same day from 6pm to 8pm the centre will host a Kids Gang Starnight Special at the price of £3 per child.
“This is a special night for children and will delve into the night’s sky to discover what is actually up there,” continued the spokesperson.
For all events children must be accompanied by an adult, and booking in advance is essential.
