DEVOTED fans of X-Factor singing sensation Cher Lloyd began queuing at the crack of dawn to ensure a prime vantage point for tonight’s Skegness concert.

Keen supporters from across the country set up camp as early as 5am, hoping get as close as possible to their idol when she takes the stage at the Embassy Theatre later today.

Elly Richards, who travelled from Leicester to see Cher perform, said: “We love Cher so much, we love everything about her.”

Groups of friends, formed from their shared love of the pop princess, listened to her chart topping music and admired each other’s home made posters while they waited eagerly for the concert to begin.

Kelsy Stanney said: “We are really excited - buzzing!”

And Paige Salt who had been looking forward to seeing her hero perform live since buying tickets back in March, said: “Cher is amazing, we all wanted to be here so much.”

Publicity and marketing officer at the Embassy Theatre Carl Lawrence was amazed to see the dedicated fans already queueing when he arrived at work this morning.

He and fellow colleagues treated the early arrivals to cups of tea to help them through the agonizing wait until Cher takes the stage.

“It’s very much a rarity and not something I’ve known in my time here,” he said.

“Cher is one of the most sort after acts we’ve booked to perform, especially after returning from America, which she took by storm.”

The warm welcome awaiting the X-Factor finalist will make a stark contrast to the cruel reception she received at this weekend’s V Festival, where she reportedly left the stage in tears after being pelted with bottles of urine.

After the event Cher tweeted: “Thank you so much for all the nice messages, shame that a couple of people had to ruin it, unfortunately a glass bottle got thrown at me on stage. “Tomorrow is another day, big love to my brats!!! Xxx”

A handful of tickets are still available from the box office on 0845 674 0505.
