Bushcraft fun for teens at Snipe Dales reserve near Spilsby

The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has unveiled plans to run a bushcraft club at its Snipe Dale reserve west of Spilsby.

The move comes after a similar scheme at its Whisby park near Lincoln proved a huge success.

“The Snipe Dales club is a fantastic opportunity for children to have a real hands on experience of the natural world,” said a spokesperson.

“Children can learn the fundamentals of fire lighting, shelter building, campfire cooking, animal tracking and field craft. All under expert supervision.

“This provides them with some of those opportunities but in a controlled and safe environment. Run as a club, it gives children the chance to experience the woodland as it changes through the year as well,” they added.

The Bushcraft Club at Snipe Dales has five meetings this year on Friday, February 22; Friday, April 5; Friday, May 31; Wednesday, August 28 and Friday, October 25. Call 01507 526667 for details and prices.
