Bossa nova band to play theatre

A BOSSA NOVA band is set to bring the rhythms of Brazil to Spilsby Theatre this weekend.

Bossa Revista will be performing at the theatre from 7.30pm on Saturday following the bar’s opening half an hour earlier.

Spilsby Theatre’s Bruce Knight said: “Celebrating the smooth sounds and rhythms of Brazil, Bossa Revista present their own sincere interpretations and blissed-out arrangements of timeless Bossa Nova music that seduced the world.

“Enjoy the music of one of the worlds greatest song writers, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and marvel at how well the world knows his melodies, made famous by the likes of Sinatra, Williams, Streisand and Fitzgerald.”

Tickets for the event cost £8 or £6 for concessions and can be bought on the door or in advance from the Box Office on 01790 752936 or by emailing info@spilsbytheatre.org.uk.

The theatre will also be hosting the Lincolnshire Folk Song Competition on October 17, featuring ten short-listed finalists performing their original compositions.
