Bank holiday fun in Alford

FOUR days of bank holiday fun got underway in Alford this morning featuring book sales, art exhibitions and much more.

The Boys’ Brigade First Company Parents Officers Association is holding its annual book sale at St Wilfrid’s Church from 9am to 4pm every day until Monday inclusive.

There are plenty of bargains to choose from including children’s books, classic novels, cookery books and more.

Funds raised will enable the Boys’ Brigade to continue operating for the forthcoming year.

Meanwhile, a fantastic art exhibition featuring around 20 talented local artists will be on display at the Conservative Club on Park Lane.

The free event kicked off this morning and will run until 10pm tonight and tomorrow, reopening between 10am and 4pm on Sunday and Monday.

A mixture of contemporary and traditional art will be on display and available to buy.

The club will be serving refreshments and a licensed bar will be open throughout.
