Arthurian legend spectacular due at Alford show

ALFORD Manor House is set to host a spectacular open air performance of ‘King Arthur and the Sword in the Stone’ this Friday, August 24.
The Cambridge Touring Theatre will perform their new show at the popular local venue at 5pm (doors open 4pm).
“The theatre take a merry romp through the world of magic and mystery with their robust and comical musical adaptation of ‘King Arthur & The Sword in the Stone’,” said a spokesperson.
“Suitable for all ages, it is performed with their usual zest and vim.
“With the country in turmoil, Merlin needs to find a pupil and chooses a local boy called Wart.
“They set off for London and Wart learns important lessons about how to be just and wise. When they arrive, the biggest competition of them all is ‘The Sword in the Stone’ pulling competition, but who will win and become Ruler of The Kingdom?”
Tickets for the show cost £11 for adults, £8 for children (under 16) and under fives go free.
Family tickets are also available at £35 for two adults and two children or one adult and three children.
Because the performance will take place outdoors audience members are advised to dress for the weather and bring something to sit on.
