Alford Library in appeal for volunteers to extend opening hours
Alford Library has appealed for volunteers to step forward and help it extend its opening hours.
Volunteer Jay Smedley said: “Can you spare a few hours a month to help open the library on a Thursday morning?
“This is the question being asked by Alford Library Volunteers following an informal meeting in Alford Library on January 17.
“We need several new members to help this to happen.”
Jay has spoken to local traders who feel that the extra opening hours could boost footfall in Alford and help towards making it a more vibrant town for visitors to enjoy.
There will be another meeting at Alford Library on Thursday, February 28 from 10am to noon.
Everyone interested is welcome. For details call Carole on 0787 637 3230 or Jay on 01507 462380.
