Just under two weeks remain before well-known TV personality and musician Aled Jones performs at a concert at the Boston Stump - and you’ve still got time to grab tickets.
The Grand Celebrity concert featuring guest Aled Jones will take place on September 28 and will be the biggest concert to be held in the Stump since Lesley Garrett performed in 2010.
“This will be Aled’s only performance in Lincolnshire this year so this is one-off opportunity to see this major television and radio star,” said a spokesperson.
“The 42-year-old presents Songs of Praise on BBC1, BBC 2’s The Early Breakfast Show, Good Morning Sunday and The Choir on BBC Radio 3 and the BBC programme Escape to the Country.
“All profits from the concert will go towards the on-going restoration programme [at the church]. Also performing will be the St Botolph’s Singers featuring guest soloist Caroline Trutz.
“The church needs to raise over £120,000 a year to continue with its restoration programme and receives no government support and therefore has to raise all this money itself.
“In these difficult times raising these funds is becoming more difficult and we hope the people of Boston will help with this by coming to the church on the 28th.
“Tickets already selling well so people are advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. In order for everybody to get a good view two large screens will be erected on each side of the aisles as we have done before so everyone in the church has uninterrupted views of the performance. We have also set aside areas for wheel chair users,” they added.
Tickets are priced £29.50, £35.00 and £80.00 for the ‘Meet and Greet’ tickets. With the purchase of these there is the opportunity to meet and chat with Aled as well as having a reserved front row seat.
Tickets are available from the Stump Shop on 01205 365111 or from Peter Coleman 01472 398637 and 0788794312. You can also get them online at www.parish-of-boston.org.uk.
