EDITOR - I have both heard and read over the past weeks so many uncomplimentary comments about the Pilgrim Hospital in Boston. Why?
I was recently admitted to the Pilgrim as an emergency case and experienced immediate and welcome treatment on arrival by ambulance, who had also administered life-saving procedures en route.

After considerable professional care on arrival, I was quickly transferred to a ward where again I experienced kind and sympathetic attention.

My experience of the Pilgrim is that of total satisfaction. The medical care could not be faulted. The ward was cleaned daily, as were the corridors, and the bedding was changed daily.

In spite of the many and various demands on the nursing staff, they usually managed a smile and a reassuring word when needed.

From consultants through to cleaning staff and caterers, I thank them all. I consider myself lucky to have this facility available.
