Thursday - SNAPSHOTS of British coastal life from 1880 to 1950 will be on display at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London.

The exhibition, which will run between September 17 and April 13, 2009, will bring together photographs, posters and seaside memorabilia to capture the essence of both working life and early tourism along the British coast.

It will highlight the diversity of the British seaside holiday and focus on beaches, piers, promenades and hotels which have all been developed to cater for a range of tastes and budgets.

The National Maritime Museum is open between 10am-5pm every day, with the last admission at 4.30pm.
