Wednesday: THE SO 2009 festival is set to be a spectacular event this year with an incredible firework show, live opera, fun on the beach and events all weekend.
Here's the full run down of events so you can make the most of the occasion.
Friday, July 24 –
8-9.30pm – So Catching Kabaret at the Big Top in the Tower Gardens.
A 1940s style Berlin show with Mary Carewe and sinfonia ViVA. £10 or £8 concessions, tickets at the Embassy Theatre, Grand Parade
10.30-11.59pm – So Catching Comedy, Big Top, Tower Gardens
Alternative comedy led by Mitch Benn, with Steve Hall, Alistair Barrie and Ray Peacock. £10/£8 concessions, tickets from Embassy Theatre
Saturday, July 25
10am-3.30pm
* Community Workshops in the Big Top, Tower Gardens
Circus skills, including juggling, plate-spinning, stilt walking, unicycling and mime. Free.
* Dance workshops in the Tower Gardens. Free.
* Funk Bus – for teenagers. PlayStation 3, X Box, Nintendo Wii, Wii Fit, Dance mat, plasma TVs, music, arts, and internet access, in the Tower Gardens for free
5.15-6.30pm – Sponsors event, seeking sponsorship for next year's event at the Big Top, Tower Gardens. Invited guests only.
6-6.45pm – Parade from pier field to the beach. Free to watch.
7-9pm – Beach Rangers, leading lots of fun activities on central beach. Free.
7-9.15pm – So Adoring Opera at the Embassy Theatre and broadcast on the beach via a 48sqm screen
Hosted by Casualty's Jonathan Kerrigan, starring Jonathan Ansell from G4 and ViVA sinfonia. Conducted bby James Holmes. £15/£14 concessions/£7.50
9.15pm – Lincs FM's Eddie Shaw leads the switch-on build-up. Interviews Mayor of Skegness Coun Pat Phillips, Jonathan Ansell and competition winners. The following is all free.
9.25pm – Introduces Butlins and Billy Bear
9.35pm – Interviews Jonathan Kerrigan
9.40pm – Elliott Morris performs two tracks
9.55pm – Background music chosen by The World Famous
10pm – Fireshow Full Circle by The World Famous with musicians Terrafolk on the beach.
10.45pm – Countdown to the illuminations switch-on led by Eddie Shaw. The lights will be left on until 4am so people can make the most of the evening.
