Tuesday, 4.30pm: AUTHOR of the legendary mod novel Quadrophenia, Alan Fletcher, will make a guest appearance at the annual end of season scooter rally, at Whisky a Go Go, Grand Parade, Skegness.
The event will feature a packed programme of live music, DJ sets and scooter runs, and is set to attract visitors from near and far.

The Skegness Lambretta Club has teamed up with the Leicestershire Alliance Scooter Club to organise the rally, which will take place on October 3 and 4.

On Friday, visitors can party the night away with specialist DJs playing motown, northern soul, ska and reggae.

There will be an early start on Saturday, at 8am, with a fry up before the 'scooter boys' go for a run.

The DJs will start the party at noon with more funky motown and punchy ska hits.

Alan Fletcher will be doing a book signing, as well as reading extracts from his various works, including his new book Mod Crop Trilogy. His appearance marks the 30th anniversary of Quadrophenia.

The headline band will be Badness, the ultimate tribute to Madness and the ska era, supported by Pretty Vacant.

The event is free and food will be available all day. Children are welcome, if accompanied by an adult.
