Monday - HUGELY successful alternative ballet company, the Big Ballet, will appear at the Embassy Theatre, Skegness, on Friday, October 10.
The ballet company is made up of 16 female dancers each weighing a strict minimum of 17 stone!
The show is like no other in the world, with the first section being a parody of popular classical ballets and the second section featuring contemporary songs from the likes of Robbie Williams, Tom Jones and even the Pet Shop Boys.
The Big Ballet was established 14 years ago by top Russian choreographer Panfilov.
Never one to shy away from controversy, Panfilov decided to prove that people of a larger build are able to move with a similar grace, dignity and flair as traditional ballet dancers.
Prima ballerina Tatyana Gladkaya said: "You definitely have to have a sense of humour to be in the Big Ballet, but we still take our work very seriously. Having said that, it's easy to do the splits with 120 kilos of down force!"
The show will start at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the Embassy Theatre box office, tel 0845 674 0505.
