Puppy left on shop doorstep

A PUPPY was left abandoned on a petshop’s doorstep, prompting the store’s staff to appeal for animal lovers to think carefully before buying a pet this Christmas.

The 10 week-old wire-haired terrier was in a flea infested and dishevelled condition when staff at Andy’s Animal Kingdom on Roman Bank, Skegness, found her outside in a shopping bag.

Sales assistant Alison Foster said: “She was in a bit of a sorry state when we found her and she was shaking when we picked her up. We always say to our customers that a pet is for life not just for Christmas and to think carefully about the commitment required.”

Fortunately a relative of the store owner took the puppy into their home where she is reported to be doing much better.
