FETE - A fundraising fete has helped to generate £377 towards the Church Roof Appeal for St Martin’s Church in Welton le Marsh.
Despite the fete being held on a Saturday with horrendous rain, as luck would have it the wet weather stopped for the duration of the event from 2pm to 4pm, ensuring a ‘dry window’ of opportunity for organisers to press ahead.
Although the expected number of visitors was not achieved, possibly due due to the inclement weather, the group still raised its strong three-figure sum.
The church needs to raise £27,000 for its planned maintenance work.
