Village News: Burgh le Marsh
COUNCIL - The Town Council has fully endorsed plans by the Burgh Events Committee to hold a Community Christmas Weekend this year.
Santa Claus, carols, a licensed bar, hot food, prize raffle and more will mark the event on Saturday, December 15, from 3pm at the town’s historic Windmill site, on the High Street.
On Sunday, December 16 there will be an indoor crafts fair at the Village Hall, Jackson’s Lane from 10am to 2pm, with various stalls food and entertainment.
It will also include an interactive nativity scene photo shoot.

BARN - There will be a barn dance workshop in the WI Hall this Friday, December 7 at 7.30pm.
CANDLE-LIT CAROLS – Burgh Methodist Church is holding this popular annual event on Tuesday, December 11 at 7pm.
There will be items by the Burgh School Choir and solos by various local artists.
Although the carols will be the well-known favourites, it may be a good idea to bring along a torch.
Tea and mince pies will be served after the service. Everyone welcome. All proceeds for ‘Action for Children’.
CHRISTINGLE - There will be a Christingle service in the parish church of St Peter and Paul this Sunday, December 9 at 4pm (not 3pm).
Burgh School Choir will be taking part.
All are welcome and each child will receive a Christingle. In aid of the Children’s Society.
MOTHERS - There will be a Christmas flavour with seasonal music and refreshments at the Mothers’ Union meeting next Wednesday, December 12, at 2pm in the choir vestry.
TREE - There will be a Christmas tree service in the parish church of St Peter and Paul on Sunday, December 16, at 4pm
WI - Burgh WI will be in festive mood tonight (Wednesday, December 5) at 7pm in the WI Hall
Hannah Smelt will be demonstrating Christmas flowers and members will be given a chance to make their own.
Anyone wishing to be included is asked to bring a small spray of carnations, a dish and oasis. The evening will include a faith supper.
The parcel for Santa is to the value of £1.
