Skegness Police appeal for help prosecuting teenage boys who terrorise elderly residents
Police have appealed for help prosecuting a group of teenage boys reported to have been causing ‘alarm, harassment and distress’ to elderly Skegness residents with criminal and antisocial behaviour.
Five young males are thought to be responsible for a campaign of ‘horrible’ behaviour affecting residents on Lincoln Green, Barns Road, Albany Close, Bader Way and Perrin Avenue over the past month.
The group are alleged to have been throwing mud, stones and footballs at houses, banging on doors, trampling gardens and terrorising residents, mainly during weekends.
Police community support officer Claire Scott said: “Many of the affected residents are elderly and very upset - they don’t understand why it’s happening to them and are worried they’re going to have a brick through their window.
“We believe we know who is responsible and are trying to gather evidence to prosecute them.
“This is totally unacceptable behaviour and we will not tolerate it anymore - we are well beyond stern words and advice.”
PCSO Scott has asked for people to report anything, however minor, which could add to the evidence required to prosecute.
