Mayor ablaze in Spilsby play area

THE Mayor of Spilsy’s overalls set ablaze as he attempted to remove a dangerous piece of play equipment from Spilsby Recreation Ground.

During the latest Spilsby Town Council meeting, Coun Michael Lenton explained he was using an angle grinder on the Sputnik to remove it after it had been deemed unsafe, when sparks of red hot metal ignited his clothing. The Sputnik is now stored away in the pavilion.
